another thing you can do is set the e brake upon starting and put it in drive and let it run it will heat up quick too, thats what i did here in indy yesterday when i forgot to plug mine in temps got down to single digits and it took a few times off cycling the grid heater to fire up then it went into 3 cylinder idle sounded like my truck had a huge cam in it. cummins do that to build up xtra heat by shutting down to 3 cylinders. just babling now

On the D-max you can do a simple little wire mod and set a high idle on it. The high idle comes built into the computer you just have to activate it. You use the cruse control to set it up.

I also believe that most if not all D-max's came with a block heater. I know my 05 has one.

On a side note. There is a problem with the injector wiring harness. Mine messed up on me driving across the country and I just fixed one last Sat. It doesn't cost any money to fix if you do it your self and if you take it to GM they will charge something like $500 to replace the harness just for it to happen to you again. If you lose all power like the truck is in limp mode let me know and have an ice pick handy

Yeah, I think all the D-maxs have them from 2001 and up or something like that. I could be wrong.. But I think you have to get the power cord to attach to it, right?

They started making the D-max in 01 so that is a pretty safe guess haha. Mine came with the cord on it but I didn't buy it new so I can not say for sure. I need to get a trailer brake for mine. Does anyone know what is a good brand for the D-max?

Have you checked out Prodigy? I think they have brake controller.

Looks pretty cool. I don't know anything about them but it has a god price. It works off inertia......
