Opti problems

I replaced it with a used Dynaspark unit.
It has cranking rpm
High res. signal is active when cranking
Low res signal is about 111-116 m sec when cranking
Res crank angle is 60* , cant remember if it was high or low and doesnt change
I have spark/fuel
Power/Ground to Opti is good
I rechecked all my wires and they were all in the right spot
Grounds are good at the stud by the coil
Also it will spit and sputter and try to run on after I let the key go from cranking.
Am I missing something?? Is there some resistance checks I can do to the Opti?

Ive had a few people say to check th dowl pin but I thought it would only fit in one spot.

Nah she still ran, just breaking up over 5100. Thats why the tranny didnt want to shift right higher up. I was helping a guy at another shop today and he replaced a cap and rotor from a car that was about a year old and he gave them to me. Im gonna put the original opti back on with this cap and rotor and hope that might fix it and send the other one off the be rebuilt.

Alex, it can definitely fit in more than one spot. It def sounds like you have a dowel pin alignment issue. What I used to to is put the opti on and start it up before putting the water pump and anything else back on to make sure it ran right because I got so tired of screwing it up

I'll do that Joe. That is what everyone else recomended me do. I put it in the spot that had the straight sides because it had a paint mark on it.

Make sure when you put the opti on that there is a mark on the back of the opti that needs to line up with the cam dowl pin. Hope this picture helps because it sounds like that might be your problem.

I know the OEM Opti had three slots to put the dowel pin in but one had another shallow slot at the end of it to designate which slot the pin went into.

On the picture of the rear is how mine looked. I put it in the bottom right slot. I hope to get back on it Friday.
