tell me about 400 horse power

I have a stock LS1, 2000 SS, not my daily driver, the engine is untouched 111k miles, SLP lid and a Katech tensioner. Planning a LS6 intake, Pacesetter LT and ORY, I want to keep the stall around 2400, gears at 3.42... what else?

Recommendations on NA, Cam, Heads, Pulley?

no NO2, blower, turbo... want it all on motor.

If you stall it don't think twice on going with a nice 3600 and a nice trans cooler, you'll be unhappy with just a 2400. As far as cams the sky is the limit for them, I have a 226/226 but am stepping up to a 231/237 real soon.

I vote a FAST 90/90 w/ and good Set of Heads to match a good all around cam. If you have some money. Trickflow TF215s heads are the way to go.
I made 460+rwhp with a Magic Stick 3 cam and a set of PRC 5.3 heads from TSP. I paid 1199 for the heads (complete), and 370 for the cam.

You could still squeez 400rwhp through and auto easy with the ls6 intake. Just plan to get the following...

Duals springs
prothane tranny mount
decent converter
chromoly Driveshaft
TAB
Adj LCAs
Good set of gears (a lot depends on the cam and DD preferences). I suggest 3.73s or 3.90s for your car with a mild cam.
You will need a ls6 oil pump, and = or <36# fuel injectors if you ever plan to spray.

Also might want to look into an LS2 timing chain.

x2 on that. Give Ryan at RPM at call for that. He is the best turner around IMO.

I would pick up the heads from Joe and go with the 228r(http://texas-speed.com/shop/item.asp...tid=44)...then go with about a 3000-3600 stall..you will have a very street friendly car with a great power curve. If I knew then what I know now, I would have went to a very similar setup. Just dont get caught up on dyno numbers

x4 on RPM..Ryan is the man

Dont worry about what it puts down on the dyno, its just a tuning tool, Like Dubz said, dont get caught up in the bullshit dyno wars, just matters what it does at the track and how it is on the street ( if driven much )
