This past Tuesday night my Big Dog wasn't acting right, I found out my 10 year old lab had a turror that went from chest to tail at around 10pm, there was no way he would have made it through surgery. At around 11am we put him down, if we'd waited any longer it wouldn't have been so dignified.

He was an English Yellow Labrador, in his prime he was 105lbs of solid muscle, best dog I'd ever had... although I never called him a Labrador Retriever, because he knew nothing of Retrieveing, but as most know about Labrador's they're a great family dog, protective and social.

I'm looking for a breeder of AKC Registered Silver or Chocolate Lab's in the area? Looking for a puppy.

Not in a huge hurry to get another puppy, but we also have a very High Strung English Springer Spaniel who needs another dog as she's never known life being an only dog. I've ordered from out of state before and had puppies shipped, just thought I'd see if there was any Local's around.

I put a $500 deposit on a 3 week old Silver Lab puppy in Iowa tonight... was hopeing to keep it local, closest local was OH and they wouldn't ship by plane. I should get him the weekend before St Patty's, I guess that will be a hell of an into to his new owners!

Alex, if I was looking for a dog I would... we have the time for a puppy, with my wife not deploying and my deployment oportunities thin.

No name for him yet... he's 3 weeks, about the size a 5 week puppy should be, litter of 5, father is 85lbs mother is 70lbs, the breeder said this litter is growing faster than he's seen in 20 years, hopeing he gets into the 90lb plus range
