Am I crazy?

I'm looking at getting a second car. I would like to drive both, but it's nice to have a fall back should one develop a problem.
I also do not want to get a beater. I know whenever I drive something other than my goat I feel
So, I'm looking at getting something I can be proud of and enjoy driving almost as much as the Goat, whether it be a Camaro, Vette, M3 etc..
How would something like this Vette work?
http://eastnc.craigslist.org/cto/1610723493.html
or this one:

Obviously there are some risks in something older, but I guess I'm wondering what kinds of issues these tend to run into, and how easy/hard they are to fix. Obviously a Camaro wouldn't be too hard to have fixed, especially around here, but what about the Vette's? M3's well, as much fun as they could be, they are expensive to buy and maintain.
Any advice would be appreciated.

I wouldnt kick a dead dog in the ass for an older vette. I worked on an '81 vette for a guy off and on. I felt like I was in a coffin everytime I got in it. I would go for the M3 between the 2 if you didnt want to go for a beater.

Wow...tell me how you really feel lol. I would love an M3 also, however, that is automatically going to be closer to 20K+

Have you considered something "practical cool" like a TBSS or a Pick Up truck? You already have a toy... you get over the practical when you get good gas mileage, cheap insurance and people don't pull out infront of you, because they know you'll hit em!

I got a kid selling a 97 Chevy 4x4 ECSB for $4500 or $5500, same guy I bought my SS from, it's a super clean truck.

I thought about something more "practical", but I know I'll be kicking myself not long after. I want to drive my goat daily. The only reason I would not is if it was down, or I had something else nice and fun to drive..lol. A truck would literally sit there until I was putting my next mod in the car. I managed to move everything I needed from NM to VA in the back of the Goat, so I can't even claim I need to move a lot of shit lol

I bought a truck for myslef before I left California, mainly because I wanted to continue to mod my car, and I wanted something to tow it with. I also wanted not to drive my car daily as I do plan on keeping it for a long time. I dont think your crazy for wanting another vehcile. For me it was a question of funds at the time. And when I got to NC I had to sacrifise living arrangements to pay for both vehicles. But in the long run its well worth it to have something else to drive if something does happen to one of them.....
